Super happy with my finished product! I’m using this with the hd retro vision Nintendo multi out component cable on my snes mini.
This was one of my first soldering projects and I was able to complete with the online instructions from retrofixes.
I wish the included wires were a slightly smaller gauge as I struggled to get them into the board after tinning them. I found myself having to decrease the gauge by cutting off some of the wire.
The picture quality increase is easily worth the price for someone like me who enjoys games on the original hardware.
On my model, the brightness seemed a bit dim at first, probably because I had also installed the brightness fix for R3 (replaced it with a 1.69k resistor) on the SNES Jr mainboard. Removing R6, R7, and R8 on the mod board in addition to this fixes the issue. Aside from that, the picture quality is impeccably sharp and crisp and the colors appear to be exactly the same when compared to emulator quality side by side. S-Video works great, and is also of good quality. I would highly recommend this mod especially for the SNES Jr.
